Philately Fridays: Israel, 1975

Another stamp designed by one of my favorite Israeli graphic artists Asher Kalderon. That is one nice looking college campus.

Philately Fridays: Israel 1979

Two stamps celebrating the hot springs of Israel. That sounds really good right now. Artwork once again by the fantastic Asher Kalderon.

The Technicolor Yellow Pages

A couple of years ago, I decided that Google had made phone books obsolete. They're clunky, quicky-outdated, and waste paper, and are the bane of an apartment lobby's existence. Well, phone book company, let me make a deal with you. If you can start making phone books look like this again, I'll take back everything I ever said about you.

Designed by the great Asher Kalderon with Ester Kurty in 1974.

Israeli Lottery, 1977

Zodiac-inspired design for the Israeli lottery (Mifail Hapais).
Designed by Asher Kalderon in 1977. I love how this has the effortless flow of a late '60s psychedelic concert poster as well as the rigid but funky geometry of a Milton Glaser design. Wish I could see a full-color version of this.
