40 Jeux Pour Jouer a Plusieurs
Here's a gorgeous French children's book from 1977 which doubles as a collection of board games. The stylish illustrations by Luis Camps and Gérard Greé neatly compile people, places, things of all sorts into grids, paths, and other game structures.

Star Wars promotional designs
I've been a Star Wars fan for as long back as I can remember. The original trilogy shaped a lot of my childhood and creative imagination. There was a great deal of fantastic design work associated with the films and here's a collection of some of it, mostly found online.

Early logo before the more commonly-known yellow on black letters came to be.

Poster for NPR's radio dramatization of Star Wars by illustrator Celia Strain. See more of her work at comicartfans.com

My all-time favorite Star Wars poster, from Israel.

The Italian design is also great. I love the creative liberties taken by the artist.

Incredible comic book ad showing off a ton of Star Wars toys.

And perhaps the most bizarre of all, this poster with C3PO and R2D2 asking parents to make sure their children have been immunized!

Philately Fridays: United Nations, 1977
Funky little two stamp series from the United Nations - I'm pretty sure from 1977 and I can't figure out from which country these are from. Either Austria or Switzerland. Anyone out there know? Either way, the wing-shaped hands are really doing it for me.

Repainting of the 53rd St. IND Station
In 1977, graphic designer Robert Propper of Propper/Elman Design/Planning was among a handful of NYC designers approached by the Public Arts Council to redesign subway stations, transforming them from drab underground waiting rooms into vibrant public art spaces. Over the course of two weeks, Propper, aided by a small group of Pratt students and armed with paint, brushes, and masking tape, turned the 53rd St. IND Station into a colorful wonderland.
