40 Jeux Pour Jouer a Plusieurs

Here's a gorgeous French children's book from 1977 which doubles as a collection of board games. The stylish illustrations by Luis Camps and Gérard Greé neatly compile people, places, things of all sorts into grids, paths, and other game structures.

Philately Fridays: Belgium, 1983

Here in Minneapolis, the snow is (hopefully) on its last leg, so we might as well get one more Winter-related stamp in before it's officially Spring in the Midwest. Here's a dedication to Alpine mountaineering in the form of a gorgeous watercolor painting.

Long Live Buddy Esquire, King of the Flyer

In late January 2014, the King of the Hip Hop flyers sadly passed away. Lemoin Thompson III, better known as Buddy Esquire, made his name known through his groundbreaking flyer designs, crafted by hand for early hip hop parties featuring Grandmaster Flash, The Cold Crush Brothers, Kurtis Blow, and other pioneers. Combining rub-on Letraset type, cut-out photographs, and hand-rendered art deco borders and frames, Buddy's style became iconic and, to this day, remains synonymous with old school hip hop. Here is just a taste of some of his work.

There is a book of Buddy Esquire's flyer designs to be released this Summer! Keep your eyes peeled for that!

BOOZE

Note: I originally posted images from this book in November 2009, but then added additional images in February 2014. Boom!

Just came back from a trip to the middle of nowhere, America and returned with this incredible book of drink recipes from 1967. Written by two wives of Washington DC political power players and illustrated by John Astrop and Eric Hill. One of coolest things I've ever found in a used book store. Here's just a taste of what's inside...
